After more than a decade installing wallpaper in some of Boston’s most remarkable homes and hotels, we’ve learned to spot a trend before it arrives. This year, luxury is moving away from the safe and the subtle — and toward walls that make a statement the moment you walk in.
The past few seasons rewarded restraint. Soft neutrals, delicate textures, the quiet confidence of a room that whispered rather than spoke. In 2025, that pendulum is swinging. Clients are asking for depth, drama and craftsmanship you can feel — and manufacturers are answering with materials that reward a truly precise installation.
1. Large-scale botanical murals
The single biggest shift we’re seeing is scale. Where a botanical print once repeated politely across a wall, this year’s murals stretch floor to ceiling as one continuous scene. Done well, they turn a dining room or entryway into something closer to a landscape — immersive, layered, and impossible to ignore.
The catch is that scale is unforgiving. A mural is printed as a set of numbered panels that must align perfectly, and any drift compounds across the wall. This is exactly the kind of work where hotel-level precision separates a beautiful result from a distracting one.

2. Hand-painted and textured grasscloth
Texture is having a moment, and grasscloth leads it. Woven from natural fibers, it brings warmth and a tactile, artisanal quality that flat prints can’t replicate. Paired with a hand-painted metallic sheen, it catches light differently throughout the day.
“More than a flawless finish, we aim to deliver
an experience that delights and makes every
client feel truly proud of their space.”
Because grasscloth is a natural material, no two rolls are identical — seams are meant to be visible and panels must be sequenced by hand so the color flows across the room. It’s slow, deliberate work, and it’s some of our favorite.
3. The ceiling as the fifth wall
Designers are looking up. A patterned ceiling — subtle geometric, soft cloud-like print, or a bold contrast to the walls below — adds a layer of surprise that guests rarely expect. It’s one of the most impactful choices in a room and, done thoughtfully, one of the most elegant.
Making it work in your own home
Trends are a starting point, not a rulebook. Before choosing anything,
we always come back to a few questions with our clients:
- How is the room used? A statement mural belongs where people gather and linger.
- What is the light like? Textured and metallic finishes change dramatically from morning to evening.
- What story should the space tell? Every wall we install is, in the end, about how a space makes you feel.
If any of these trends caught your eye, the best next step is a
conversation. Tell us about your project and we’ll guide you through
every step — from choosing the right material and quantity to a clean,
precise installation with no waste and no guesswork.
